Krabi province sits across Phang Nga Bay, about two hours by speedboat from Phuket. The scenery differs from Phi Phi: the limestone karsts stand closer together, the water inside the enclosed lagoons is warmer and holds its emerald colour, and the beaches are noticeably quieter because most visitors arrive from Ao Nang rather than Phuket.
The classic four-island route centres on Hong Island and its enclosed lagoon, entered through a narrow gap between cliffs. At low tide the lagoon becomes a shallow turquoise pool barely waist deep — the most recognisable shot of the whole trip. Then come Talin (Tap), Chicken Island and Poda: at low tide a sandbar surfaces between the first three, and you can walk from island to island ankle-deep in water.
the reefs are shallow, currents are minimal, so the route suits families with children and anyone who is not a confident swimmer. Lunch is served on Poda beach or on board depending on the tide and how busy the island is.
this peninsula with sheer cliffs and Phranang beach is reachable only by water. It is not part of the standard programme, but in the private format we swap it in for one of the islands — it is the best photo stop on the route.
Phi Phi is about recognisable film locations and a very busy day, with crowds at Maya Bay. Krabi is about landform and water: the enclosed Hong lagoon, the sandbar between three islands, the Railay cliffs. There are noticeably fewer people, the lagoon water is warmer and the snorkelling is calmer. If this is your second trip to Phuket, or you have already done Phi Phi, Krabi is almost always the stronger impression.
Yes, but only at low tide. The sandbar between Talin, Chicken and Mo surfaces for roughly 2–3 hours around low water, and people do walk it ankle-deep. We plan the timing against the tide table for your specific date, so we hit the window eight times out of ten. If the tide is high that day, we cross the bar by boat and add more time on Poda.
The run from Phuket to the first island takes 90–120 minutes each way — the longest crossing in our catalogue after the Similans. In a swell the boat rides harder. If you are prone to motion sickness, take a tablet 40 minutes before departure, sit mid-boat and watch the horizon. On a private boat the speed is adjustable and the crossing is much easier.
Yes, from about 4–5 years. The Hong lagoon is shallow and current-free, the sandbar is literally walking in water, and the reef at Poda is shallow. The main strain is the crossing itself. For children under 4 and guests who handle swell poorly we recommend a private boat: softer ride, shade and a toilet on board, and you can leave an island early.
Yes, the original or a good colour copy — the islands are inside a national park and rangers check documents on landing. Without ID you will not be allowed ashore, and the park fee is not refunded.
Hotel pickup and drop-off anywhere in Phuket is included in every tour. The day before departure we message you on WhatsApp to confirm the weather and the exact pickup time. A licensed minivan or sedan picks the group up directly at the hotel or villa reception and drives you to the start point — pier, park gate or meeting point. Driving time depends on your area: Patong, Kamala, Surin 30–40 min, Karon and Kata 25–30 min, Rawai and Chalong 15–20 min, Bang Tao and Mai Khao 50–60 min. If your hotel sits outside the standard zone, we agree on the surcharge or an alternative meeting point in advance, no surprises on the day.
In the rainy season (May–October) Phuket downpours are usually short and local: they pass within 30–60 minutes. Sea routes run on the leeward side, so even with strong wind the protected lagoons and bays remain safe for swimming and snorkelling. If the Thai marine authority officially closes departures, we warn you a day in advance and either reschedule the tour for a convenient date or refund 100% with no penalties. On land tours rain barely affects the program — we simply reorder stops so the peak of the shower happens in a cafe or under a temple roof.
Most of our tours work for families with children from 4 years and for senior guests. For sea trips we recommend private speedboats: they ride softer over waves, have a toilet and a sunshade, and the speed is adjustable. For land tours we use an air-conditioned minivan with child seats on request. If your group includes a toddler under 4, a pregnant guest, or someone with back issues, blood pressure or motion sickness — please mention it at booking: we arrange a private format, soften the timing and suggest less intense versions of the program without losing the highlights.
Payment options: cash on the day (THB, USD, EUR at market rate), Thai bank transfer, PromptPay, Russian card via intermediary, or USDT TRC-20. We do not normally take prepayment — the tour is booked on trust and you pay on the day before departure. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start. Within 12 hours we keep 50% to cover the already-booked boat, guide and park fees. In case of bad weather, confirmed illness or genuine force majeure the refund is 100% with no deductions. All payment details are sent in WhatsApp the day before — no surprise charges.
All sea tours into Thai Marine National Park zones (Phi Phi, Similan, Surin, Phang Nga) require a passport or a high-quality colour copy — without an ID the park police will not let you onto the islands. Land tours do not require a passport. For air excursions outside Thailand (Singapore) the passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of return. We recommend making a passport copy on day one and keeping it separate from the original. All other documents — insurance, hotel booking — are already in our system, you do not need to re-share anything.
All our guides and drivers speak Russian as the default. English is available on request: we work with certified Thai guides who hold international licences when a guest in the group does not speak Russian. For mixed groups (Russian-speaking + foreigners) the commentary is delivered in both languages. All operational chats run on WhatsApp in your preferred language — no friction with the manager, driver or guide. Mandarin, Korean, German and French guides are available on request, the surcharge is confirmed at booking time.
